Manton High Rev High Boost Valve Springs 03-10 Ford 6.0/6.4L Powerstroke

Manton High Rev High Boost Valve Springs 03-10 Ford 6.0/6.4L Powerstroke

Now you want to run higher boost in your 6.4L Powerstroke, or maybe you're looking to move your power band further up the RPM range on your 6.0L with a new camshaft, you're going to want to replace your valve springs to a set designed to hold your valves closed when they need to be closed, but still able to open when necessary. In a situation with the purchase of a new camshaft, the cam card will dictate the recommended spring ratings to ensure you get the maximum performance out of the cam without floating valves.

Manton provides a full 32 spring set of high boost and high rev ready valve springs with 123lbs of seat pressure over the factory 80lbs, and 284lbs of open pressure. With that, you can feel confident that your valve train will open and close as it should, and not be a hinderance to your performance build.

Valve float can be a problem for those with high boost builds and higher RPM performance in the 2003-2010 Ford 6.0 and 6.4L Powerstroke, or for those with very little backpressure from the exhaust from hood stacks with large diameter piping. Valve float is exactly as it sounds, instead of fully closing during the engines cycle, the valve springs do not have enough force to hold the valve closed and thus, the valve "floats". You may see a dip in RPM, hear the engine stumble, or in extreme cases, find bent push rods during a tear down. You may experience a rattle in the valve train as well, which could be an indication of pending failure.

Prevent this with a fresh set of valve springs from Manton.
