Newer Ram trucks are equipped with VGT (variable geometry) turbochargers. These electronically-controlled turbos are a unique piece under the hoods of these trucks and have a popular, built-in exhaust brake. However, these turbochargers have coolant running through them to keep them cool, but oftentimes truck owners are experiencing failed actuators. Due to coolant leaks into the electronics, the actuator fails. Because of this, truck owners are faced with an expensive stock replacement or they change the turbo completely and go to a tried and true oil-cooled, non-VGT turbocharger. Because of that, you would need to plug off those coolant ports. 

Thanks to Smeding Diesel, that is made easy with their all-aluminum coolant plugs that come with o-rings. If you're someone who is tired of replacing VGT turbos and have exchanged it for an older, oil-cooled style, you will need these plugs to complete your installation.
