PMF Suspension 7 Inch Alpha Lift Kit 17-22 Ford 6.7L Powerstroke
The PMF Suspension Alpha 7-inch lift kit is not just an aesthetic upgrade for your 2017-2022 Ford Super Duty. It's a practical upgrade with dual rate coil springs for a smooth street ride and with an additional 3+ inches of travel over stock promoting improved offroad agility as well. The rear of the kit is designed around the stock rear spring. With the Alpha series, the rear spring will be supplemented with a traction bar kit to give a stable base when towing or any other performance scenario.
- For the front end you have two options. First, we have PMF's Long Arm 4-Link. This is designed to give you the most control over axle caster and wheel hop. It will keep your front end planted for even the most brutal 4 hi launches or sled pulls. The other option available is the PMF Adjustable 3-Link Arms. With either option, you will notice tighter steering response, better street driving characteristics, and a more comfortable ride. The increased strength of the link arms will have better control over the axle and allow for more articulation and shock absorption offroad. This will make for smoother operation when hitting anything from potholes to whoops! Regardless of which option you choose you will have the ability to adjust the castor to your desired specs.
- The rear is designed to retain your OEM leaf pack so you can maintain factory payload capacities. To gain the additional height, PMF uses a traction block kit with a user selected height to allow customization to the exact stance you desire. The front springs used in this kit are designed to sit level with an 8" rear block. The rear system comes standard with a Stage 2 Gusseted Traction Bar Kit to prevent any concerns of axle wrap or wheel hop that both high horsepower trucks and tow rigs will certainly appreciate!
- The kit includes the option to upgrade to 3/4" U-bolts as a significant upgrade over the strength of the factory 5/8". When selecting U-bolts, choose either a single rear wheel (SRW) or dual rear wheel (DRW) axle configuration.
- Determine what type of leaf pack you have. A standard leaf pack will consist of a leaf configuration where the topmost leaf runs full length from eyelet to eyelet. A standard leaf pack will have a thickness of 2-3". If your pack is thicker than this, select the "top mounted overload option". A truck with a "top mounted overload" will have a small spacer between the main pack and the top overload which is not connected to anything at each end.
Shocks:
- There are different shock options available. All optional shocks in the kit are valved specifically for this application. For those looking for some aesthetic improvement and minor performance increase the Bilstein 5100 shock is a great economical option. The Bilstein 5160 steps up for more moderate performance increases featuring remote reservoirs for increased oil capacity promoting better heat dispersion for consistent performance in a variety of environments. The seal orientation on these is better for salty and harsh environments. For the customer looking for the ultimate performance PMF has their custom-built Race series. With custom valving, PMF can tune the shocks to your -specifications, ensuring the best possible ride quality and performance based on your truck's purpose and your driving style.
- The 2017-22 trucks come with a new front driveshaft that does not react well to extreme angles as in previous years. At this lift height, it is HIGHLY recommended to install a transfer case index plate and crossmember. This rotates the transfer case to a working angle to keep the front shaft within acceptable range. Alternatively, a custom front driveshaft could be sourced. It's not recommended to run the truck without one or the other. Doing so can destroy the transmission, transfer case, driveshafts, axles or other components and could cause loss of control of the vehicle. We are not liable for damage, injury or death caused by not installing these components.
