FASS Bulkhead and Suction Tube Kit 98.5-04.5 Dodge 5.9L Cummins
If you have a 1998.5-2004.5 truck, it came from the factory with a block mounted lift pump. Dodge has retrofitted many of these trucks with the later in-tank pumps. When installing a FASS fuel system, you must determine if your truck has the pump on the side of the block still or now has the in-tank pump. If it does have the in-tank pump, you will need the FASS Suction Tube Kit offered here. If the pump is still on the side of the block, you do not need this kit. To determine where the pump is, turn the key to the "On" position (do not start), and listen for the hum from the pump. It will either be in the tank, or on the driver's side of the block behind the fuel filter.
The STK-1002 (Suction Tube Kit), machined from 6061 T-6 Billet Aluminum, is a Bulkhead Fitting comprised of a 5/8" Suction Tube along with a 1/2" Fuel Return Port. This new and improved version from FASS' previous STK-Kit allows you to plumb your FASS return line directly to the bulkhead fitting, eliminating all cutting of the filler neck, and significantly speeds up the installation process. The suction tube is fabricated of PTFE Teflon which can be easily cut to adapt to different depth fuel tanks. Properly installed, you can safely operate down to about 1/8 tank of fuel.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This product is suggested to be installed with a FASS Titanium Series Lift Pumps. The larger suction tubes improve fuel delivery and work perfectly with higher volume fuel pumps. If you are purchasing a FASS Titanium Series pump at the same time check your kits contents, some pumps include this item standard.
