Agreed, the 7.3 Powerstroke is arguably one of the most reliable diesel engines ever built. That said, there are a few areas that are notorious for failure, and one of which is the factory EBV. This butterly valve is known to seize, typically in a closed position, meaning your engine isn't able to expel all of its exhaust, rendering your truck useless until its fixed. Sure, some will either use wire to secure the valve open, or disassemble the outflow valve and remove the butterfly valve from the rotating pin. But, why not take the right path and upgrade the whole system including the pedestal, with a high flowing unit that simply won't fail?!
