• Both cam options are considered “drop-in,” requiring no more than 0.018” piston protrusion and at least 0.038” valve face depth with a standard head gasket. If these clearances aren't met, oversized head gaskets or valve reliefs may be required.
• Apply a liberal amount of high-quality assembly lube to cam lobes and journals.
• Prime the oil pump and oil filter before starting.
• Verify oil pressure before engine start-up.
• Run the engine at 1200-1500 RPM for 5 minutes, then shut it down.
• Adjust valve lash after each torque sequence to account for gasket compression.
