Description
The valve body in a transmission is the drivetrain's nerve center. It
controls gear selection, line pressure (clamping force), line rise
(meeting torque demand), converter mode, flow and pressure, along with
shift timing and quality. SunCoast 47RE valve bodies for 96-99 Dodge
Trucks focus and modify these areas to enhance transmission operation
and durability. The SunCoast valve bodies allow for crisper shifts,
enhanced converter operation, cooler operating temperatures, and
increased lube flow. Full time converter feed assures lube flow while in
the park position and under high throttle conditions for durability and
longevity. SunCoast's modifications allow for torque converter clutch lockup in all
forward gears when used in conjunction with a controller. From the factory when you let off the throttle, the torque converter spins freely. Even if you have an exhaust brake installed, the retarding power is lost in the transmission because of the lack of torque converter lockup. When you pair SunCoast's valve body with a lockup controller, you'll benefit from substantially better exhaust brake retarding power. If you have the feature, you should be able to benefit from it.
